EWG Home

Our mission is to enhance and support conservation and renewable energy efforts in the Pikes Peak region and help advance the goals of the Coalition and its members.

Our collabrative process begins with small groups who take on a subject and study its implications for our community. They bring their project to the larger Coalition group for promotion to the community. Our first project was to gain community support for our Utility to procure more wind power.

We meet the first and third Tuesdays of the month, usually from 5:30 to 7:00.  The first meeting is usually held at the Penrose Library Adult Reading Room.  The meeting on the third Tuesday is usually held at the Coffee Exchange, 526 S. Tejon St.  Please check our calendar to confirm location and times.

Request for clean Wind Energy thru CSU - Take the Survey Monkey!

Colorado Springs Utilities is offering a new Wind Power program to residents and businesses in their service area. You can sign up to receive this clean energy for as little as $1.24 per month.

Those wishing to have even more clean energy can subscribe to as much as you like. Each 100 kilowatt hour 'block' of wind power will cost an additional $1.24 per month.

In subscribing to this clean energy you will not be charged for the increases in cost for fossil fuel based energy that show up on your bill as ECA (Electric Cost Adjustment). This portion of your bill will not go up if you subscribe to 100% wind energy. IF you select a lesser amount of wind power 'blocks' (less than 100%), your increase in the ECA will be in proportion to your total use less the wind power portion.

The Green Cities Coalition is a non-profit advocating for a clean energy future. We are using Survey Monkey for this process because it is an easy way for us to collect your request for clean energy. Feel free to forward this to your friends and neighbors if they also buy electricity from Colorado Springs Utilities.

The information you provide will only be shared with Colorado Springs Utilities who will contact you when this clean energy comes online in early 2013.

Please provide only as much information as you like but enough for you to be contacted.
